As tender as they get! These ribs are delicious falling off the bone goodness. With most of the work done beforehand, serve these ribs and you can be a guest at your own bbq. For most, a barbecue is not complete without a smoking grill and grill master at the helm, however, if it suits your style, these ribs can be made in advance and reheated in the oven or dare I say microwave.

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 Racks Baby Back Pork Ribs

  • 4 Cups Beef or Chicken Broth

  • 3 Cups Sweet Baby Rays (or your favorite) BBQ Sauce

  • 2 Small Yellow Onions, chopped

  • 3 Cloves Garlic, chopped

  • 2 T. Salt

In a large deep roasting pan or oven proof pot (you may have to cut the racks in half) combine the broth, 1 cup bbq sauce, onion, garlic and salt. Add the ribs, top side down. Add enough water to just cover the ribs, the bones may stick out of the water a bit. Bring to a simmer on the stove. Cover with foil and place in a 300 oven for 2 hours. Remove from the oven, uncover and allow the ribs to cool in the braising liquid. Carefully remove the ribs from the braising liquid, brush the ribs with barbecue sauce (at this point the ribs can be wrapped and refrigerated or frozen for later use).

Place the ribs top side down on a hot grill. Grill over medium/high heat until the ribs are nicely caramelized, about 8 minutes. With a spatula (the ribs sometimes stick and are quite tender) turn the ribs, brush top with barbecue sauce, continue grilling for another 8 minutes. Serve.

Serve with Maple Baked Beans, Apple Slaw, Classic Potato Salad.
